Ivor Levitt's Oak Trees &

Memorial Bench

Two self sown oak trees transplanted from the ancient woodland at Hildersham Wood have been donated by Mrs Binney-Killander and replanted in the recreation ground in memory of Ivor Levitt and his constant companion and workmate Eric Linsdell.

One of these young oak trees will grow up through the centre of a circular metal bench designed and built by Derek Patten.

The bench was supplied from Parish Council funds, and have been installed in the recreation ground by the river and public footpath in memory of Ivor Levitt.  The dedication of the oak trees and memorial bench took place on Easter Monday, Keith Day and Mrs Binney-Killander both gave very warm memories of Ivor, a very popular and important Hildersham man.

The event was very well attended and all shared and enjoyed a very welcome tea.
